MileGuard Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 3, 2026

Wudget ("we," "our," or "us") operates the MileGuard mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use MileGuard.

1. Information We Collect

No account is needed. MileGuard does not require sign-up, login, or an email address. We do not collect your name, email, or contact information.

Vehicle and lease data. You provide lease details (start date, end date, mileage allowance, overage rate) and vehicle information (year, make, model, odometer readings). This data is stored on your device.

Location and motion data. If you enable automatic drive detection, MileGuard uses your device's motion activity (Core Motion) and location (Core Location, including background "Always" access) to detect when you're driving, measure trip distance, and label where a drive started and ended. Trip routes are processed on your device and are not sent to us — we do not operate a server that receives your location. To name a drive's start and end, the trip's endpoint coordinates are sent to Apple's geocoding service to look up a place name; this is governed by Apple's privacy policy, and we never receive those coordinates. You can turn automatic tracking off at any time in Settings.

Purchase information. If you subscribe to MileGuard Premium, Apple processes your payment. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never see your payment method details.

Usage analytics. We use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used. Events are associated with a random, anonymous identifier generated on your device — not your name, email, location, or device advertising identifier. We do not use Apple's IDFA or any advertising tracking, and automatic event tracking is disabled; we only record specific in-app actions (e.g., logging a drive, viewing a screen).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To detect and log drives automatically, and to calculate mileage projections, pace tracking, and overage estimates
  • To send you milestone notifications (e.g., 90%, 95%, 100% of your mileage allowance) if you enable notifications
  • To send maintenance reminders based on your vehicle's odometer
  • To process and manage your subscription
  • To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

3. How We Store Your Data

  • Lease, vehicle, trip, and mileage data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
  • Analytics events are processed by Mixpanel under an anonymous identifier.
  • We do not maintain a server database of your personal, vehicle, lease, or location data.

4. Third-Party Services

MileGuard integrates with the following services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Apple StoreKit (subscriptions) — apple.com/privacy
  • Apple Maps geocoding (trip start/end coordinates are sent to Apple to look up place names; we never receive them) — apple.com/privacy
  • Mixpanel (anonymous usage analytics) — mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared with the services listed above solely to provide app functionality (subscriptions and analytics).

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Automatic tracking: turn drive detection off at any time in Settings → Tracking, or revoke Location/Motion permission in your device's Settings.
  • Delete your data: Settings → Delete All Data permanently erases everything MileGuard has stored on your device.
  • Notifications: disable or fine-tune them in Settings, or in your device's Settings, at any time.
  • Analytics are tied to an anonymous identifier, never to personally identifying information.

7. Children's Privacy

MileGuard is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)

To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification.
